NORMAL COMPETITION ENTRY FORM

If this is your first time using the form, you are advised to read the FAQs below before you begin.

1. Make sure that your image is using the sRGB colour profile & that the image is no bigger than 1600px wide by 1200px tall.

For example, if your image is in square format, then the biggest it can be is 1200px by 1200px.
It cannot be 1600px by 1600px, as this would be too tall.

2. Make sure that your image is named correctly & that is saved as a JPEG (the file extension can be either .jpg or .jpeg).

For example, if your image's name is Fish for Dinner, then your image file name will need to be this:
Fish for Dinner - Joe Bloggs.jpg, where 'Joe Bloggs' is your name.

1. In the top section of the form, you need to fill in your first name, surname, E-mail address and choose the number of images you are going to be uploading.

The form will not submit unless these fields have been filled in.

Choosing the number of images will give you the right number of image upload sections.

2. Now you need to fill in one image section per image.

For each image:

  • Fill in the image name first.
For example, if your image file is called Fish for Dinner - Joe Bloggs.jpg (where Joe Bloggs is your name), then the image title will be Fish for Dinner.
  • In the next two drop-downs, you need to choose whether the image is being submitted as a print or PDI, and whether it is for the set or open subject section.
When you have filled these in, the name of the competition section (Alde, Deben, Orwell or Stour) will appear on the form.
If you don't want the image to be published online by EICC, select no in the third drop-down.
If you are happy for it to be published, ignore this drop-down.
  • Next, fill in the other image sections, if required.
  • Finally, tick the box at the bottom to confirm that your images are in sRGB format, then click on Send.

There are various reasons why you might get error messages.

The form validation will deal with one image at a time. Possible errors you may encounter are:

  • The image is too large.
If your image is either too wide (wider than 1600px) or too tall (taller than 1200px), the form will reject it.
Go back to your file editor and resize the image to meet the required dimensions, then try uploading again.
  • The image is incorrectly named.
If you have told the form that your image name is Fish for Dinner and your name is Joe Bloggs, then the form will expect your image file to be called Fish for Dinner - Joe Bloggs.jpg.
Any mismatch (spelling or extra spaces in the name) will cause the error message.
Simply put, your image file name must match what you have entered in the image name field (Fish for Dinner) and the first name (Joe) and surname (Bloggs) fields. Amend, then try uploading again.
  • Information is missing from either of the drop-downs.
You will need to go back and select PDI or print and then set or open from the drop-downs.
  • You have entered too many images into one section.
Make sure that you haven't entered more than two images for any combination (PDI & set, PDI & open. print & set or print & open).

When you have addressed the errors, click on Send again.

When the form is satisfied that you have met all of its requirements, you will see a success message on your screen. The form can take a while to submit, especially when you are submitting more than one image, so if there is no error popup message, just wait patiently until you see the success screen.
